History of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the world’s most oldest & sophisticated science of medicine that offers holistic wisdom, which encompasses philosophy, ethics, metaphysics, sociology etc. to address and prevent any disorder or disease. The first ever recorded texts, known to mankind are Veda’s, composed between 500 & 1000 BCE in Sanskrit language, which are the bundles of wisdom that offer guidelines on how to live our lives for optimal well being.

So, Ayurveda is a vedic science which literally means science of truth/knowledge/life. Its teachings if properly understood and practiced, will mould the man into super human & divine and convert this earth into heaven.

Spices

Origin of Ayurveda stretch deep into antiquity. Ayurveda, with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent have varied and evolved over more than two millennia. Many of the foods and spices we associate with Ayurvedic cuisine like ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, basil were already being cultivated in this ancient period. Some scholars assert that Ayurveda originates in prehistoric times and some others have an opinion that it existed from the time of Indus Valley Civilization or even earlier.

The central theoretical ideas of Ayurveda developed in the mid-first millennium BCE. Ayurveda claims that suppressing natural urges is considered unhealthy which eventually will leads to illness.

Rooted in remote antiquity, and having survived and grown through the time, Ayurveda now faces a bright future in India and across the world.
